Recently, I’ve been thinking.
I've been thinking so much so that I needed to stay up until 4 a.m., put some earphones in, collect all my thought, and make this post happen.
Here’s what’s been on my mind:
I moved to Florida one month, one week and two days ago. By the time this actually gets posted, if it even gets posted at all, that time line probably will not be correct, but as of right now, on March 7th 2018, it’s been one month, one week and two days.
However, I’ve been talking to my roommates for roughly four months starting with our group text. Now, I knew I liked them, but I never knew how much I would care about them until this week. Actually, to be exact, it was last night that I realized just how much I really treasure these three incredible people.
So, I wanted to take some time to talk about how much I appreciate the people I now consider my family. Let’s start with Frankie.
Frankie and I are a lot alike. She likes to say that I am the southern version of her, but we also consider ourselves to have a decent amount of differences. We have a really nice balance of personalities if you ask me. Since Frankie and I share a room together, we have a lot of late night talks- each of which get really deep. On top of that, we spend quite a bit of time together. I actually think we’re a part of each other’s blood related family at this point. All of those things I wouldn’t trade for the world, not even for a second. In the early weeks of the program, she called me because she couldn’t find her car in Cast parking, and I immediately left Hollywood Studios to go help her out. That’s how quickly we started to care about each other. Fast forward to now, and there have been lots of hugs, tears, rants, laughter and just about everything in between during our time together. This week she and Kylie cleaned my ears out with an ear wax candling kit, so if that doesn’t tell you how close we are I don’t know what will. Of course we frustrate each other, and we’ve definitely been roasting each other since about the third day here, but we're there for each other in a heartbeat no matter what’s going on.
I got to spend the majority of the day yesterday with Kate, and we also spent most of the day together last Saturday before work. Kate and I share the bond of being Texans. If you’re a Texan, than you already know what I mean. I’ve really enjoyed getting to spend time with Kate because she’s actually crazy...but the good kind of crazy. For starters, this girl loves the Three Caballero’s and Alice in Wonderland more than you even can begin to imagine. She also is really fun to take to Hollywood Studios and meet stormtroopers and Ben Solo or Kylo Ren.
Sometimes she’s a lot to handle, but she knows when to be serious and have a deep conversation you both really need. Since I’ve been feeling under the weather lately, the other night she drove me home in my car after dinner to make sure I made it home safely. She also makes it a point to come have a good conversation with me every night before we go to sleep. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to our nightly talks, even when it’s just a quick chat about our day followed by a goodnight.
If you’re ever looking for a mom that acts like your cool Aunt, well then you have Kylie. She’s doesn’t say a whole lot in group settings, but when she does it’s funny as all get out. She is definitely my hype man on the daily. Since she works the same hours everyday, we get to spend evenings together every once in awhile, and I live for those nights. We get to talk about life while walking through the parks, and it means so much to me. When I’m not feeling well, she gives me medicine and makes sure I make it to bed (that’s a good story to ask her and Kate about). Kylie also took me out on a girls night after a very dumb boy bailed on plans to go out for the evening, and treated me to a cupcake. There are times when I feel down about myself, and she seems to know exactly what to say in order to pick me up again. In case you missed it earlier, her and Frankie literally pulled gunk out of my ear with a candle the other night. We’ve hit a new level of closeness. Kylie may be on her a-game while roasting you, but it only means she really loves you. She's also really clever and A1 at coming up with hilarious memes and captions.
I could literally continue on for days telling you good things about these three, but no one wants to sit through that, so I’m going to wrap this up. Like I said earlier, when I started this program I never thought I would get THIS close to these girls. Now, my heart breaks every time I think about having to say goodbye and leave them in May. Although I know we’re going to have many reunions and travel to see each other fairly often, I won’t be living with them like this after three months. I’m really protective over my girls too, so rest in peace to anyone tries to cross them.
So, to Frankie, Kate and Kylie, I don’t think you’ll ever fully know and understand how much I truly care about you, but I really do love y’all so incredibly much. I can’t thank you enough for being who each of you are, and what you do not only for me, but for each other. I live for all of our conversations, and I can’t even begin to express how blessed and thankful I am for getting to call y’all my best friends, my fam and my roommates.
